Master Gardener

Master Gardeners are trained volunteers who aid University of Wisconsin Extension staff by helping people in the community better understand horticulture and their environment. This site can help you learn about becoming a Master Gardener in Wisconsin, find information about horticultural topics, and connect to the statewide network of Master Gardener Programs. Learn more about the Master Gardener Program offered through Shawano County UW-Extension office and the Wisconsin Master Gardner Program .

Wolf River Master Gardeners Association

Once you have completed your training you are eligible to join the Wolf River Master Gardeners, once a Wolf River Master Gardener you will need to complete 24 volunteer community service hours and 10 hours of continuing education each year. The Wolf River Master Gardeners are a group from Shawano and Menominee Counties that enjoy sharing their horticultural knowledge with others in our communities. Some of the volunteer activities are Shawano Farmer’s Market, UWEX Gardenline, Huber Garden, Gibson Island, Apple Tasting, Bike the Barn Quilts and many more.

The  association meets at 6:00 pm on the fourth Monday of the month.

Are you wondering where is the best location to put your garden or flower beds? Do you wonder which vegetables should be planted next to each other? For any questions about fertilization, flower or vegetable gardens, your berry patches or even those insects you can’t identify, call the UW-Extension Master Program GARDEN LINE.
